Madison Mutual was created in 1919 by Joseph Hlad. He started it because he didn’t like how another insurance company had handled his insurance claim and knew there must be a better way.

By raising money in his community, he opened Madison County Mutual Auto Insurance Company inside of his general store in 1920. Because of this commitment to community, Madison Mutual remains committed to this community.

Based out of Edwardsville, IL but writing business in Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin and their home state of Illinois, they focus on Auto, Home, Personal Umbrella and Farm Owner insurance policies.
